Car share Reading has been developed by Reading Borough Council in partnership with liftshare, the largest implementer of car sharing systems in the UK.
Our car share scheme meets the objectives of the Local Transport Plan (LTP) document, containing our policies and plans for transport over the next 5 years, and is in line with the government’s 10-year plan for transport.
This website aims to promote all forms of transport and integrate both public and private modes to maximise people’s travel options for journeys to work, leisure or services that they need. This will reduce the number of cars on our roads, helping to reduce the impact of congestion and pollution, and will save money on fuel and parking charges.
Car share Reading is absolutely free to use and has been built and designed for every possible user, whether driver or passenger.
Registration is required in order that liftshare may run the scheme as safely as possible. This will take only a few minutes and liftshare guarantees that none of the details used in this process will be passed on to a third party without your consent.
